Rome, 26 January (LaPresse) – The Council of Ministers has declared a state of emergency and allocated an initial total of €100 million to the three regions affected by bad weather in recent days (Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia). The governors made the announcement as they left Palazzo Chigi at the end of the meeting. ‘Today, the Civil Protection Department will issue an order appointing the regional presidents as delegates,’ i.e. commissioners, explained Roberto Occhiuto. ‘€33 million has been allocated to each region for urgent work,’ added the Calabrian governor. ‘A detailed assessment of the damage will then be carried out and the damage will be covered by an interministerial measure.’
