Rome: hacker attack on La Sapienza IT infrastructure

Rome, 2 February (LaPresse) – ‘La Sapienza’s IT infrastructure has been the target of a cyber attack.’ The university announced this in a statement. “As a precautionary measure, and in order to ensure data integrity and security, the network systems have been immediately blocked. A technical task force is currently working to analyse the extent of the incident and initiate procedures to clean up and gradually restore the infrastructure, relying on backup systems that were not affected by the incident. The remediation operations are also receiving valuable support from the staff of the National Cybersecurity Agency. The University Administration is working to mitigate the effects of the blockage and ensure the reactivation of essential services as quickly as possible,” the statement concludes.
