Milan, 5 March (LaPresse) – An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. on Ferdinando Favia and Okon Johnson Lucky, the two men who died last Friday in the derailment of Tramlink number 9 in Milan on Via Vittorio Veneto. Dr. Stefano Tambuzzi has been appointed to perform the forensic examination of the bodies. The decision was made this morning at the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office during a meeting with lawyer Benedetto Tusa, who is assisting the 60-year-old tram driver under investigation for disaster, manslaughter and negligent injury, and with lawyer Stefano Benvenuto, legal representative of Favia’s partner, Flores Calderon, who will be interviewed this afternoon by the local police investigating the case, coordinated by public prosecutor Elisa Calanducci. Both the defence lawyers for the suspect and the victim have reserved the right to appoint consultants during the investigation and consultations on the kinematics, black box and safety systems of the latest generation ATM vehicle, which will have to be arranged. The tram driver is “very distressed” and “could not be otherwise in the face of such a tragic and ugly situation that has affected everyone and which everyone is talking about”, said P.M.’s defence lawyer. “He found himself in a situation of severe stress and emotional difficulty,” said Mr Tusa, pointing out that he is “a very experienced driver” with over 30 years of service at ATM and no accidents in his professional career.
