Milan: tram without passengers derails, bolt on rails

Milan, 8 March (LaPresse) – A tram without passengers, heading for the depot, derailed on Saturday evening in Milan at around 10 p.m., coming off the tracks on the bend between Via Galvani and Via Filzi near the Central Station. According to ATM, the derailment was caused by a bolt on the rails. There was no one else on board the tram except the driver, who was not injured because the tram was travelling at a very low speed. The accident comes a week after the derailment of tram 9, which killed two people and injured 48.
