Iran, Crosetto: ‘I hope for an international security mission in the Strait of Hormuz; we need the UN’

Rome, 17 March (LaPresse) – ‘It’s not that countries have said no to securing Hormuz; they have said no to a mission that might have seemed almost like entering a war in that strait, whereas what all countries hope for – and what we all hope for – is a multilateral, international mission that can in some way guarantee the security of Hormuz’. So said Defence Minister Guido Crosetto in an interview with “Diario del giorno” on Tg4. If, as Donald Trump has said, this war will not last much longer? ‘I hope so, I wish for it. That is what we all hope for. We do not need another war that lasts indefinitely. We do not need the consequences of this war,’ added Crosetto.
