Rome, 17 March (LaPresse) – The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office has issued a notice of the conclusion of investigations against five individuals suspected of complicity in the terrorist attack carried out on 9 October 1982 outside the synagogue in Rome, which resulted in the death of two-year-old Stefano Gaj Taché and the injury of 40 Jewish worshippers. The Public Prosecutor’s Office announced this in a statement, recalling how the commando unit, composed of terrorists belonging to the organisation led by Abu Nidal, “threw hand grenades whilst simultaneously firing bursts from submachine guns at the numerous worshippers who, at the end of the religious service, were leaving through the synagogue’s side gate on Via Catalana, before fleeing into the adjacent streets” .
