Pope: ‘Democracy is healthy only when it has a true vision of the human person’

Vatican City (Vatican), 14 Apr. (LaPresse) – ‘Democracy remains healthy only when rooted in moral law and in a true vision of the human person. Without this foundation, it risks becoming either a tyranny of the majority or a mask for the domination of economic and technological elites’. Pope Leo XIV wrote this in a message sent to participants at the plenary session of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, which is being held from 14 to 16 April. The message, dated 1 April, was released today by the Holy See Press Office.
