FIGC, AIC and AIAC: ‘We stand with Malagò’

Rome, 30 April (LaPresse) – ‘With just under two months to go until the FIGC’s elective assembly on 22 June, and with the deadline for submitting candidacies for the presidency of the FIGC fast approaching, players and coaches have reached a consensus, identifying Giovanni Malagò as the person best placed to meet the many challenges of the present and, above all, the future.’ This was announced by the members of the AIC and AIAC in a statement. “During the meetings and discussions of recent weeks, significant consensus has emerged on key policy points such as Club Italia, Sustainability and Reforms, the Technical-Sporting Project and Women’s Football; a vision for sports policy which, building on the initial impetus from the Serie A teams that nominated him, ‘offers guarantees in this delicate and important federation season, in which thinking in terms of the system is the only way forward’, they continue, expressing the hope that ‘Giovanni Malagò will resolve his final reservations positively and that they are ready for further discussions to enable the development of a joint programme to revitalise the FIGC and the entire Italian football system’.
