Milan, 18 May (LaPresse) – Fabrizio Corona is ready to accept a plea bargain involving a sentence convertible into a fine in the latest strand of the bankruptcy trial concerning his former company, Fenice, which relates to the alleged misappropriation of assets involving one of his former homes on Via De Cristoforis in Milan. The plea hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at 12.30 pm before Judge Nicola Clivio of the Second Criminal Division of the Court of Milan, after the defence team of the former ‘king of the paparazzi’ has already reached an agreement with Public Prosecutor Luigi Luzi and demonstrated that it has paid approximately €40,000 to the tax authorities: a plea deal involving a 10-month sentence, convertible into a fine. According to the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office, that property in Milan’s nightlife district, near Corso Como, was ‘fictitiously’ registered by Corona in the name of one of his associates in order to remove it from Fenice’s assets and prevent it from being included in the estate. This is the same flat that was seized from the 52-year-old in 2018 on the orders of the Preventive Measures Section as part of the case involving the €2.6 million in cash found in the false ceiling. A case in which Corona was acquitted of the charge of fictitious registration of assets. For the former celebrity agent, this legal chapter will also come to a close tomorrow, whilst on Friday he is due to appear at Palazzo Chigi in the defamation trial against the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, brought against him and Luca Arnau over the article published by Dillingernews.it on 20 October 2023.
