Rome, May 31 (LaPresse) – Regarding the suspected case of Ebola infection reported in the city of Cagliari, the Region of Sardinia stated in a press release “that all procedures required by the relevant protocols were immediately activated. The patient has been taken into care by health authorities, is in isolation at the appropriate healthcare facility, and is being constantly monitored by specialized medical staff.” The Region of Sardinia is in constant contact with the Ministry of Health, local and national health authorities, local and national Civil Protection agencies, and the Spallanzani Institute in Rome, where testing will be conducted to confirm whether the patient has contracted the virus.
