Rome, 2 June (LaPresse) – “The agreement on the Return Regulation reached in Brussels brings a long and complex negotiation process to a close. Italy has strongly supported this measure, aware that a balanced European migration policy cannot be achieved without clear and effective rules on returns. The new provisions introduce concrete obligations, strengthen cooperation between Member States and provide for operational tools in third countries. It is a significant step forward towards managing the migration phenomenon in a way that is sustainable for everyone.” This was stated by the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi.
