Agrigento: 7-year-old girl taken ill at the beach; died whilst being airlifted

Palermo, 14 July. (LaPresse) – A 7-year-old girl died this afternoon whilst being airlifted by helicopter from Marianello beach in Licata, in the province of Agrigento, to Caltanissetta Hospital. According to reports, the girl had been at the beach with her family. It is unclear whether she was in the water or whether she fell ill whilst on the beach. When the 118 emergency services arrived at the scene, the girl’s condition was already serious. The medics decided to rush her to Caltanissetta, but during the flight her condition deteriorated dramatically, to the extent that she was already dead on arrival in Caltanissetta.
