Vatican City (Vatican), 17 June (LaPresse) – ‘I welcome the conclusion of the agreement’ between the US and Iran ‘which will be signed on Friday as an encouraging result of patient dialogue and negotiation’. Pope Leo XIV made these remarks at the end of Wednesday’s general audience in St Peter’s Square. The Pontiff thanked “the countries that have worked to facilitate the meeting between the parties” and expressed the hope that the agreement “may strengthen security and stability in the Middle East by promoting paths of dialogue and cooperation between peoples”.
