L’Aquila, 21 June (LaPresse) – The breakthrough in the search for the two girls, aged 12 and 16, Alisya and Sarah – who had left the care home in Civitella Alfedena, in the province of L’Aquila, 14 days ago and were found today in Formia – came about thanks to an operation carried out by the Carabinieri from the L’Aquila Operational Unit, the ROS special operations group and officers from the provincial command in Latina, coordinated by the Chief Prosecutor of the Court of Sulmona (L’Aquila), Luciano D’Angelo, who subsequently spoke to the girls on the telephone. The girls, who were found at their maternal aunt’s home, are well but shaken, and are not happy about all the media attention. Investigations and enquiries are currently underway to determine whether anyone bears criminal responsibility. A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow at the Court in Sulmona to provide details of the discovery.
