Milan, 25 June (LaPresse) – A 19-year-old man of Moroccan origin has been arrested by the Carabinieri in connection with the murder of Pietro Roberto Guerrino, the internationally renowned simultaneous interpreter found dead with a series of blows to the head in the living room of his fourth-floor flat at 11 Via Oxilia, in the Loreto-Centrale area of Milan, on 13 June. The arrest of the suspect was ordered by Public Prosecutor Carlo Scalas to prevent the young man from fleeing; he was apprehended at Melzo railway station with a large amount of luggage in his possession, and the arrest was carried out on Monday evening by officers from the Compagnia Duomo and the Milan Investigative Unit. The arrest warrant was validated by the investigating magistrate on Wednesday morning.
