Rome, 26 June (LaPresse) – Investigators from the Rieti Police Headquarters’ Mobile Squad, with the support of the local Digos unit, have executed the order implementing the pre-trial detention measure, issued on 25 June 2026 by the investigating magistrate of the Court of Rieti at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, for the offences of aggravated multiple murder in conspiracy and attempted aggravated multiple murder in conspiracy, against four young men from Rieti, all members of the Sebastiani Rieti Basket ultras, who had previously been served with DASPO orders issued by the Rieti Chief of Police following the well-known criminal incident that caused the death of Marianella Raffaele, on 19 October 2025 on the S.S. 79, near the Contigliano exit, in the province of Rieti, following the basketball match between Real Sebastiani Rieti and Basket Pistoia. A fifth member of the Ultras group, in connection with the same criminal acts, has been placed under house arrest as a precautionary measure. Today’s operation follows the arrests of suspects, on charges of aggravated murder in conspiracy, ordered by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rieti and carried out by the State Police on the evening following the ambush, targeting three Ultras, who were subsequently, on this very day, with the execution of a pre-trial detention order in prison for a further charge, namely attempted aggravated murder in conspiracy.
