Milan, 26 June (LaPresse) – The Court of Cassation has upheld the conviction of one of the defendants in the trial concerning a gang rape that took place in a bar in the Navigli district of Milan in March 2023. The Court of Cassation has upheld the three-year-and-seven-month sentence handed down on appeal against one of the defendants. The investigation began immediately after the woman, who was 31 at the time of the incident, reported the matter. She had spent the evening at the venue, drinking heavily. The following morning, when she woke up, she could not remember anything but was in severe pain. The woman went to hospital and subsequently filed a complaint. The investigation, conducted by the Monforte dei Carabinieri unit in Milan and coordinated by Deputy Public Prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo, led to three men aged between 23 and 27 being placed under investigation on charges of gang rape. Among them were two of the club’s owners, whose trial is still ongoing.
