Naples, 29 June (LaPresse) – Italy remains in the grip of the heatwave. There are 22 cities on ‘red alert’ today, Monday 29 June, and this figure will rise to 25 tomorrow, Tuesday 30 June, and on Wednesday 1 July, according to the Ministry of Health’s heatwave bulletin. Today, 22 cities are under a ‘red’ alert: Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Campobasso, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Genoa, Latina, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Perugia, Pescara, Rieti, Rome, Turin, Venice, Verona and Viterbo. Three cities are on alert level 2, the ‘orange’ level: Cagliari, Catania and Trieste. Messina and Reggio Calabria are in the ‘yellow’ zone. Tomorrow, the highest alert level will also be extended to the cities of Cagliari, Catania and Trieste, whilst Reggio Calabria will move to ‘orange’ and Messina alone, among the 27 cities assessed daily by the Ministry of Health’s bulletin, will remain in the ‘yellow’ zone. The alert levels forecast for tomorrow will then be confirmed for Wednesday 1 July.
