Milan, 1 July (LaPresse) – The National Collective Labour Agreement for the Education and Research sector for the three-year period 2025–2027, covering the pay provisions, was formally signed today at the headquarters of the Agency for the Negotiation Representation of Public Administrations (ARAN). The agreement covers around 1.2 million employees, almost a third of the total public sector workforce. Once fully implemented from 1 January 2027, the average gross monthly increases to basic pay, calculated over thirteen months’ pay, will amount to €137 for the sector as a whole. For school teachers, the average increase is 143 euros per month, whilst for school administrative, technical and auxiliary (ATA) staff it is 107 euros. With the final signing – as specified by ARAN – staff will also be able to benefit from back pay accrued from the start of the contract period. The estimated amounts are €1,253 for staff at research institutions, €1,034 for AFAM staff, €855 for school teachers, €854 for university staff and €633 for school ATA staff.
