Naples, 1 July (LaPresse) – The heatwave that has hit Italy over the last few days is drawing to a close: from Friday 3 July, the green alert will return for almost all the cities monitored in the Ministry of Health’s heatwave bulletin. There are 22 cities on red alert today, Wednesday 1 July, all except Reggio Calabria (orange), Bolzano, Turin and Viterbo (yellow). Tomorrow, Thursday 2 July, will see the first noticeable improvement, with all cities moving to yellow; only Catania and Reggio Calabria will remain on red alert, whilst Messina will be on orange. On Friday 3 July, the green alert will return in 18 cities: Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Cagliari, Campobasso, Civitavecchia, Florence, Latina, Milan, Naples, Perugia, Rieti, Trieste, Venice, Verona and Viterbo. Nine cities will remain on yellow alert: Catania, Frosinone, Genoa, Messina, Palermo, Pescara, Reggio Calabria, Rome and Turin.
