Arezzo: ultralight plane crashes in Castiglion Fiorentino, pilot killed

Florence, July 3 (LaPresse) – An ultralight plane crashed shortly after takeoff, killing the pilot. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. this morning in Castiglion Fiorentino, in the province of Arezzo. The ultralight had taken off from the Serristori Airfield and, for reasons currently under investigation, crashed shortly after takeoff into a field not far from the airfield. Emergency responders from 118 arrived at the scene, but the pilot of the ultralight was already dead upon their arrival. Firefighters, the Carabinieri, and local police were also on the scene.
