Campobasso, July 3 (LaPresse) – The Larino District Attorney’s Office has in recent hours received the findings of the forensic medical report on the deaths of Antonella Di Ielsi, 50, and her daughter Sara Di Vita, 15, who died between Dec. 27 and 28 in Pietracatella (Campobasso). The findings, coordinated by medical examiner Benedetta Pia De Luca, confirm that both women died of ricin poisoning, thereby strengthening the investigative framework of the case opened for double homicide aggravated by the use of a poisonous substance, with the perpetrators still unknown. The final report will be filed in the coming days after it has been jointly signed by all the consultants. “We’ll have to wait a few more days,” confirms Larino District Attorney Elvira Antonelli. Meanwhile, the investigations entrusted to experts at the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin are continuing. The biological and food samples seized during the investigation have already arrived at the German laboratories, where they will be reexamined alongside the biological evidence from the two victims. The Campobasso Mobile Squad is also continuing to interview family members and acquaintances, while analyses are underway on blood samples from Gianni and Alice Di Vita to verify possible exposure to ricin through the presence of antibodies.
