Fentanyl theft: Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office opens an investigation; Ministry of Health launches an inspection

Rome, 3 July (LaPresse) – The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the theft of 80 vials of an injectable Fentanyl-based drug, used in anaesthesia, from the Israelite Hospital in Rome, which took place on 24 June. The alleged offences are theft and possession with intent to supply. Following the theft of fentanyl at the Israelite Hospital in Rome, the Ministry of Health, at the instigation of Minister Schillaci, has launched an inspection through its relevant departments and has called in the Carabinieri’s NAS unit. The ministry announced this in a statement.
