Milan, July 3 (LaPresse) – Three friends of Alfredo Arustigue Encarnacion, the 28-year-old Peruvian national who died after drowning in the Romano swimming pool in Milan, have been placed under investigation on suspicion of failure to render assistance. According to investigators, the group entered the pool area during the night by climbing over the fence. After the 28-year-old jumped into the pool despite not knowing how to swim, his three friends allegedly left him there and walked away. One of the three, a Mauritanian national, later alerted a bouncer at a nearby bar, who in turn called the emergency services. Despite rescue efforts and resuscitation attempts, the 28-year-old could not be saved and died shortly after being taken to Milan’s Policlinico Hospital.
