Rome, July 3 (LaPresse) – A 23-year-old motorcyclist died overnight in a traffic accident that occurred around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Viale Papiniano and Via Sant’Agostino in Milan. The young woman, who was rescued in extremely critical condition and transported as a code-red emergency to the Policlinico Hospital, died around 3:30 a.m. According to an initial reconstruction by local police, at the intersection—where the traffic light was flashing—the motorcycle driven by the 23-year-old, who was coming from Piazza Sant’Agostino and heading toward Via Modestino, failed to yield the right of way to vehicles approaching from the right. At that moment, an SUV driven by a 71-year-old man—who was traveling along Viale Papiniano from Piazzale Aquileia toward Piazzale Cantore—struck the right side of the motorcycle with the front of the vehicle. The driver of the car tested negative for alcohol and drugs.
