Rome, 8 July (LaPresse) – The journalist and leader of the Popolo della Famiglia party, Mario Adinolfi, was placed under house arrest this morning on the orders of the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office. The measure, carried out by the Guardia di Finanza, is linked to an investigation in which he is accused of fraud and tax evasion. At the heart of the investigation is the mechanism of the so-called ‘collective betting scheme’, which is alleged to have fuelled a fraud worth 5 million euros. Investigators also attribute to him alleged tax evasion amounting to approximately 400,000 euros.
