Genoa, 10 July (LaPresse) – The 20-year-old son has confessed to the murder of his mother, Lorella Capano, aged 58 and originally from Milan, who was found dead in Sanremo on 7 July in the flat on Via Hope, where the family had been spending their seaside holidays for years. This morning, Filippo Oldani, aged 20, made his confession during questioning before the investigating magistrate. The young man, who had initially denied all charges, answered the judge’s questions during a hearing lasting over two hours. It was he who raised the alarm and called the emergency services on the evening of the murder, claiming that he had gone out for dinner and, upon returning, had found the door locked from the inside and received no response from his mother. The fire brigade, who had forced their way in, then discovered the woman’s lifeless body. Among the hypotheses to be confirmed by the post-mortem is that death was caused by strangulation. The arrest has been confirmed, but the court order has yet to be filed.
