Rome, July 11 (LaPresse) – “I’m sorry, I would be offended. If he really doubted me, I would spit in his face.” This was stated by Valter Lavitola in an interview with La Repubblica, speaking about the attack on Sigfrido Ranucci and the investigation in which he is under investigation for massacre. Lavitola was responding to a question about the possibility that Ranucci no longer rules out his involvement. “I can’t say anything about the investigation, I have already spoken to the magistrates,” he continued. “Were Ranucci and I in agreement? Come on, we would have been crazy.” On the poll regarding Ranucci’s possible entry into politics: “The poll on Ranucci entering politics? It all started around Christmas. I was abroad, at a cocktail party, a standing dinner. I can only say that we were outside Italy. There were old friends from the Socialist International. One of them, a highly authoritative foreign figure, told me that they had sounded out several prominent Italians ahead of the elections. In any case, Ranucci performed extremely well in the poll. So well that even I found it hard to believe.”
