Yesterday evening, a 24-year-old man, Alex S., was shot in the legs outside a pub on Via Raoul Chiodelli. He received medical aid and was taken to the hospital; while admitted for treatment, his injuries are not considered life-threatening. Investigators, coordinated by the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office, are looking into the incident. No leads are currently being ruled out, but investigators are considering the possibility of a settling of scores within the drug-dealing underworld—specifically in an area of the capital’s eastern suburbs that has been plagued for months by violent clashes between criminal groups. This ambush follows a similar incident just days ago. On Saturday evening, Marco S., a 64-year-old local resident with a long criminal record, was shot in the legs at the Villaggio Falcone drug-dealing spot on Via Padre Damiano de Veuster. He was struck in the legs and transported to Tor Vergata Hospital following a call to the 112 emergency number at 9:39 PM. The same area had previously made headlines in May 2024, when 81-year-old Caterina Ciurleo was killed by a stray bullet while sitting in her Smart car during a shootout between rival gangs.
