According to a statement released by the hospital on Thursday morning, the girl had been involved in a swimming pool accident two days earlier in Sestri Levante. Death was declared overnight following the observation period and the clinical assessments required under the medical protocol. “The parents, with great generosity, consented to the donation of their daughter’s organs,” the hospital administration added. “The entire hospital stands beside the family during this time of unimaginable grief and expresses its deepest gratitude for a decision capable of transforming an immeasurable loss into real hope for other families.” The statement concluded that, out of respect for the privacy of the child and her family, no further information will be released.
