Sardinia: man hits two young men with his car and stabs one of them; 25-year-old dies

Cagliari, 22 July (LaPresse) – A 25-year-old man has died after first being hit by a car and then stabbed. The young woman who was with him was injured. According to reports from the Sassari 118 emergency control centre, the pair were walking in Barisardo, in Ogliastra, when they were struck by a car. The driver got out of the vehicle and stabbed the young man several times. An ambulance from Tortolì and an Areus air ambulance responded immediately. Paramedics performed CPR on the 25-year-old for some time, but he died. The young woman, who suffered injuries to her lower limbs, was stabilised and rushed to Cagliari Hospital. Police were at the scene to carry out investigations and piece together the exact sequence of events.
