Rome, 26 July (LaPresse) – Following checks carried out after the No Tav demonstration as part of the Alta Felicità Festival, the State Police seized various items deemed capable of being used for assault or to conceal one’s identity. The seized items included pyrotechnic and explosive devices, gas masks, homemade explosive devices and numerous items used for disguising one’s identity. In particular, officers seized several Molotov cocktails. The Turin Police Headquarters also reports that, during preventive operations carried out in the days leading up to the demonstration, around 1,800 people had already been identified and similar materials seized. As part of these operations, 16 compulsory removal orders, nine DACUR orders and two preventive detentions were issued. Three French nationals were turned back at the border, whilst others were ordered to leave the country.
