Milan, 2 August (LaPresse) – At the end of the Angelus prayer, Pope Leo XIV expressed his concern over the “alarming situation” in Ceuta, the Spanish enclave in Morocco that was stormed on Friday by around 50,000 people. Speaking extemporaneously in Spanish, the Pope launched an appeal for solutions that would bring “peace, stability and justice”. The Pontiff then offered another prayer for “peace in the world”. “May wars cease and diplomatic solutions be found to conflicts,” said the Holy Father, remembering “all the victims of hostilities, especially the weakest and most defenceless” such as “children, the elderly and the sick”.
