On June 14, 2023, in Casal Palocco, Rome, while driving a rented Lamborghini SUV, he caused a road accident in which a five-year-old boy travelling in a Smart car with his mother and sister died. “The rehabilitation process continues with the road accident victims’ association,” lawyer Antonella Benvenuti explained. In January 2024, Di Pietro had agreed to a plea deal resulting in a sentence of four years and four months in prison.
