Let yourselves be transformed by his love and be promoters of forgiveness, reconciliation and peace.” So said Pope Leo XIV in a video message sent on the occasion of the Mass marking the conclusion of the 7th National Youth Day, which took place in Ibarra, Ecuador, from 31 July to 2 August, on the theme ‘Take heart! I have overcome the world’. “Dear young people of Ecuador,” the Pope said, “I greet you with affection as you prepare for the 7th National Youth Day, to be held in Ibarra under the motto: ‘Take heart! I have overcome the world’. I encourage you to listen to the Lord’s call and to follow him resolutely. Encountering Jesus Christ fills the heart with joy and gives us the strength to be witnesses to his love and mercy.” He concluded: “I entrust all the young people of Ecuador to Our Lady of the Presentation. May Mary be the model who inspires you to live the Gospel and to give yourselves, as she did, to God’s plan for your lives.”
