Genoa, 14 Aug. (LaPresse) – Eight years on from 14 August 2018, and one month after the first-instance verdict in the trial to determine liability, Genoa commemorates the 43 victims of the Morandi Bridge collapse. This morning, in the Certosa district, a mass was celebrated by Archbishop Marco Tasca. At 10.45 am, at the Radura della Memoria, a ceremony was held in memory of the victims, attended by the authorities: present were the Mayor of Genoa, Silvia Salis; the Prefect of Genoa, Cinzia Torraco; the President of the Liguria Region, Marco Bucci; and the Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Edoardo Rixi, acting on behalf of the Prime Minister’s Office. Yesterday saw the opening of the photographic exhibition by Genoese photojournalists in the atrium of Palazzo Tursi; it will remain on display in the loggia until September, when it will be moved to the Memorial’s exhibition rooms alongside the video installation featuring the stories of those who lost their lives eight years ago.
