Naples, 21 Aug. (LaPresse) – In Calderara di Reno (Bologna), the Carabinieri have arrested a 54-year-old man from Bologna on charges of abuse of family members or cohabitants and trespass. The arrest took place during a rescue operation by the Carabinieri to assist a woman who had been attacked by her partner. The 54-year-old had been ‘warned’ earlier that same day by the Carabinieri during a domestic dispute. On that occasion, on the instructions of the duty public prosecutor at the Bologna Public Prosecutor’s Office, a protective order had been issued for the victim – the so-called ‘Codice rosso’ – as provided for victims of domestic and gender-based violence. Despite the measure being put in place, a few hours later the 54-year-old secretly entered the woman’s home and attacked her, necessitating another intervention by the Carabinieri. The 54-year-old was subsequently arrested and taken to prison to be brought before the judicial authorities.
