Rome, Aug. 26 (LaPresse) – “There was an assignment received and they will explain to the prosecutors what it was.” So said lawyer Antonio Falconieri, representing some of those arrested, after meeting with his clients held at Rome’s Rebibbia prison. Tomorrow, three of the four men accused of being the perpetrators of the attack against journalist Sigfrido Ranucci, which took place on October 16, 2025, in Pomezia, will answer questions from prosecutor Edoardo De Santis. A central focus of the questioning will be the role allegedly played by Valter Lavitola and the contacts the suspects allegedly had with him and with Gomes Tavares. An attempt will also be made to identify the ‘Doctor’, a name that recurs several times in wiretapped conversations among the four suspects believed to be the perpetrators of the attack. The review hearing for Lavitola is scheduled for September 7.
