Rome, Sept. 8 (LaPresse) – Five police officers serving at the Anzio and Nettuno police station have been arrested on charges of criminal association aimed at drug trafficking and unauthorized access to databases. The arrested officers were taken to prison following an order issued by a Rome investigating judge. The operation by the State Police and the Anti-Mafia District Directorate (DDA) strikes hard at cases of institutional disloyalty, reaffirming the Roman administration’s policy of absolute rigor to protect the honour of the police forces. The suspects, active between 2024 and 2025, face, to varying degrees, charges of criminal association, external involvement in drug trafficking, embezzlement, forgery and unauthorized access to computer systems. Investigations by the Mobile Squad and Sisco revealed the illicit handling of cocaine shipments linked to an Italian-Albanian clan — an operation in which a courier died during a pursuit —, the falsification of documents and the theft of money from arrested drug dealers.
