Genoa, 8 Sept. (LaPresse) – The prosecution has sought a 30-year prison sentence for Fortunato Verduci, the Genoese car body repairer accused of aggravated murder in connection with the death of Luigia Borrelli, known as Antonella, who was brutally murdered in the lower part of Vico Indoratori, where she worked as a sex worker, in Genoa’s historic centre in 1995. The ‘drill murder’, as this cold case went down in history, was reopened three years ago when new investigations focused on the car body repairman. According to the prosecution, it was he who brutally murdered the woman, whom the killer then attacked with a drill, found embedded in the victim’s neck. The sentencing recommendation was made today by Public Prosecutor Patrizia Petruzziello. The aggravating circumstances alleged are cruelty and trivial motives. The verdict is expected by the end of October.
