Milan, 9 Sept. (LaPresse) – Carabinieri from the investigative unit and officers from Rome’s mobile squad arrested seven men at dawn this morning who are believed to be the masterminds behind the murder of Fabrizio Piscitelli, known as ‘Diabolik’, which took place on 7 August 2019 at the Parco degli Acquedotti. The order for pre-trial detention in prison, requested by the Rome District Anti-Mafia Directorate and granted by the capital’s investigating magistrate on various charges including aggravated murder committed using mafia methods, extortion involving military-grade weapons, attempted murder and criminal association for the purpose of drug trafficking, has been served on, amongst others, Michele Senese, the long-standing head of the clan of the same name and the principal instigator of the crime, Leandro Bennato and Alessandro Capriotti.
