Rome, 11 Sept. (LaPresse) – The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office will formalise and submit an appeal to the Constitutional Court to raise a conflict of jurisdiction against the Chamber of Deputies, following the latter’s refusal on 5 August to allow access to the chat logs of the former Under-Secretary of State for Justice, Andrea Delmastro. The initiative comes from Chief Prosecutor Francesco Lo Voi and Deputy Prosecutor Lorenzo Del Giudice of the Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), and aims to secure the annulment of the parliamentary decision which refused to allow the seizure of communications stored on Caroccia’s telephone. Caroccia is under investigation for money laundering and the use of front companies in the ‘Bisteccheria d’Italia’ inquiry, in which Delmastro held a stake.
