This was confirmed by the mayor of Venice, Simone Venturini. “Sadly, Gabriella Querino’s body has been found in the lagoon. This is news we never wanted to read. With this discovery, the last glimmer of hope has sadly been extinguished, bringing a tragic story – one that has kept our entire city on tenterhooks over the last few days – to a most painful end,” wrote the mayor in a social media post.
