L’Aquila, September 17 (LaPresse) – A 51-year-old man from Abruzzo has been sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison for abusing his ex-partner’s 12-year-old daughter. The sentence was issued by the Court of Turin following the man’s summary trial. Seven years ago, the daughter, her mother, and her partner moved from the province of L’Aquila to Piedmont. According to the Prosecutor’s Office’s reconstruction of the case, the man allegedly took advantage of the moments when the minor was alone at home to engage in sexual acts. Aroused by her daughter’s behavior, the mother managed to get her to talk about what was happening, reporting her partner, who was subsequently tried, but with a summary trial. At the end of the first-instance proceedings, the Court of the Piedmontese capital found the victim liable, sentencing him to 2 years and 6 months in prison and ordering compensation for damages to the victim, to be determined in civil proceedings.
