Rome, 19 Sept. (LaPresse) – An attack planned down to the last detail, announced on social media hours in advance and carried out after the attacker ‘dressed up’ in the school toilets. This is the Carabinieri’s account of the stabbing of teacher Isabella Marsilio, 66, which took place on Friday morning at the Giovanni Verga Institute in Centocelle. The Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Juvenile Court in Rome has been informed of the incident, but as the boy is 13 years old, he cannot be charged under Italian law. Investigators believe the Year 9 pupil had been planning the attack for some time. Before entering the classroom, he is said to have posted a message on his social media accounts with a countdown, ‘-5 hours’, which was interpreted as a warning of the attack. Upon arriving at the school, the 13-year-old reportedly went to the toilets, where he put on a helmet with his mobile phone attached to the top to film the incident, as well as a pair of airsoft goggles which he claimed to have bought online.
