Milan, 20 Sept. (LaPresse) – A man from Eastern Europe died last night in Baldissero d’Alba, in the province of Cuneo, after being shot during an attempted burglary. The shot was fired by the owner of a farmhouse currently undergoing renovation, which had no gates or fences and had a pile of building materials stacked outside. The 35-year-old man said he heard noises at around 2.30 am and saw a group of four or five men entering his property, at which point he fired a shot with a semi-automatic pistol in his possession. The victim, aged between 30 and 40, is currently being identified by the Carabinieri from the Cuneo Operations Unit, who are questioning the man who fired the shot. Paramedics from the 118 emergency service also attended the scene and attempted to resuscitate the man, but could do nothing but confirm his death.
