But from what source do we seek to quench our thirst? Are we content with material goods, with immediate gratification, with the many little idols that promise the world but leave our hearts empty? Through Baptism we have received the living water spoken of in the Gospel, but have we truly encountered Christ personally? Human beings are fundamentally ‘desiring’ beings, and only God can fill this inner void,” he affirmed.
