Milan, 30 Sept. (LaPresse) – “There was a tendency to immediately label this case as a deliberate act; I don’t know whether they were unable or unwilling to carry out a thorough investigation, but I consider it to have been poorly conducted.” Antonella Tognazzi, wife of former MPS manager David Rossi, made these comments in an interview with the daily newspaper *La Repubblica*. Over the past few years, she has fought to ensure the investigation into her husband’s wife continued, as she did not believe the suicide theory, and has tried, together with her daughter Carolina Orlandi, to piece together what happened on 6 March 2013 in Siena. Regarding the latest developments from the parliamentary commission of inquiry looking into the case, led by Gianluca Vinci – which suggests the truth needs to be rewritten and that it was in fact murder – Tognazzi states: “The conclusions of the Commission’s work are what we had hoped for and what we had always been convinced of. From the very beginning, we found a lack of answers to our questions from the authorities and the public. Our determination led us to persist in trying to understand what had happened. The Commission is carrying out meticulous and thorough work to examine every aspect and uncover what has not yet come to light. We are facing an important outcome, even if it will never be true justice: that would simply be to have my husband back and our life as it was before.” When asked what she hopes for now, Tognazzi replies: “I hope there will be a courageous public prosecutor’s office that opens a proper murder investigation. Furthermore, it has always saddened me – and I have also found it incomprehensible – that the bank has never made a statement: right from the start, I would have expected them to ask the magistrates to investigate such a tragic event that took place at the bank for which David had given his all. I expected them to say something even today, to support a family that had been destroyed. They have never made themselves heard, not once.”
