Genoa, Oct. 7 (LaPresse) – The hearing on the custody of Nessy Guerra’s three-year-old daughter has been postponed to next December 7. Guerra, a 27-year-old from Sanremo, has been stranded in Egypt for three years, where she was sentenced to six months in prison over allegations of alleged adultery made by her ex-husband, Tamer Hamouda. The woman is living in a form of pre-trial detention while awaiting the ruling of the Egyptian Court of Cassation; she has been confined to her home since July, under 24-hour surveillance by three armed officers. In court this morning, the panel rejected the woman’s ex-husband’s request to have their daughter, Aisha, present at the next hearing: the woman’s defense had raised an objection, which was upheld, over the risk that the child could be abducted.
