Rome, 9 Oct. (LaPresse) – The Court of Rome has suspended, for the second time, the defamation trial against Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè, who stands accused of making statements against Giuseppe Zena, and has referred the case to the Constitutional Court. This decision was taken by the single judge of the eighth criminal division, Emilia Conforti, who raised a conflict of jurisdiction. Last November, the proceedings had already been halted when the case files were sent to the Senate to assess the admissibility and admissibility of the statements made in the courtroom by the minister. The Senate had refused to grant authorisation to proceed.
